Euroforests’ Simon Wallis is appointed to the FISA Board of Directors

Simon Wallis, who heads up the Compliance Team at Euroforest has been appointed as one of four newly elected Directors at the Forest Industry Safety Accord.

https://ukfisa.com/ This is a great result for Simon and for Euroforest who know they have excellent representation within FISA.  Simon is widely known and respected within the forestry industry and a huge advocate of safety and continuously improving standards for the benefit of all forest workers and users.

Simon has enjoyed a long forestry career starting as a chainsaw operator in 1984, working his way up through the Forestry Commission to become Head of Technical Training before leaving to set up his own Training and Consultancy business before joining Euroforest in 2018.  Of the appointment, Simon said “as a FISA director I will work to ensure that through sound governance the organisation can achieve positive safety goals and deliver against its wider objectives. It is essential that we move forward in improving the professional competency and confidence of all people in our industry and in doing so reduce the number of accidents and fatalities.”

Managing Director of Euroforest, David Symons said “The Compliance Team at Euroforest recently expanded their team with the appointment of Daniel Burns who joined as Quality and Certification Manager.  Daniel has a wealth of forestry experience growing up in a forest environment and having spent 12 years with Forestry England.  Daniel brings many qualities and alongside Simon and the rest of the Compliance Team will help push Euroforest to the forefront of forest safety standards.”
