Due to continued growth and an increasing workload across Scotland, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Forest Manager to join our Scotland-based Forest Management team, working from our Stirling office. The role is diverse and hands-on, suited to an individual with solid forestry knowledge, commercial understanding, and the ability to manage relationships effectively across a range of stakeholders.
Working collaboratively with colleagues involved in both harvesting and forest management, you will help deliver professional forestry services across a varied client portfolio.
Typical duties will include:
• Organising and supervising a range of forest management activities
• Ensuring operations are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with environmental and regulatory requirements
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, landowners, contractors, and regulatory bodies
• Overseeing establishment, restocking, and maintenance programmes across a variety of woodland types
• Assisting with budgeting, reporting, and operational forecasting
• Preparing woodland management documentation and production plans
• Coordinating thinning and harvesting programmes, including timber evaluation and related fieldwork
• Monitoring contractual compliance for timber sales and operational works
• Preparing tenders and supporting the development of new business opportunities
• Contributing to the wider growth and success of the regional business
Training and support will be provided to familiarise the successful candidate with company systems and procedures. Ongoing professional development will also be encouraged.
• Proven experience in forest management with direct involvement in day-to-day operations
• Experience working with woodland owners, clients, and stakeholders
• Relevant academic qualification (Forestry or related land/science-based discipline)
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks, including forestry and environmental legislation
• Strong commercial awareness and operational understanding of upland and lowland silviculture and the full range of operations from new planting and restocking through to harvesting.
• Knowledge of UKFS and UKWAS requirements
• Understanding PAWS / ASNW management desirable
• Awareness of grant and regulatory systems advantageous
• Professional membership of the Institute of Chartered Foresters or another relevant body desirable. Support will be provided for associate members seeking professional membership
• Strong commercial and operational judgment, and a desire to develop and grow the portfolio over time.

• Ability to work collaboratively and lead proactively
• IT proficiency, including Office 365 and GIS systems.
• Clean, Full UK Drivers Licence.
• Salary £35,000 - £50,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
• Signing-up fee of 10% of annual salary
