Harvesting Manager

The Position

We are seeking an experienced Harvesting Manager to oversee operational sites across Yorkshire. While the reporting office is in Carlisle (Head Office), the role is predominantly site based. We are looking for a self-motivated, professional individual capable of building effective relationships at all levels and efficiently managing harvesting operations.

Key Responsibilities

The role involves the following key responsibilities, but it is not limited to:

-         Organise and supervise harvesting, marketing operations and timber haulage

-         Assist with wider forestry and project operations as required, supporting the delivery of operational and strategic objectives

-         Liaise with internal teams, landowners and external stakeholders

-         Identify and pursue new timber purchasing opportunities

-         Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits

-         Monitor work progress and ensure compliance with specifications and standards

-         Manage and coordinate contractors onsite

-         Prepare costs and financial forecasts

-         Ensure adherence to HSE, FISA and ISO standards and promote best practice

Training and support will be provided to introduce the successful applicant to Company systems and procedures.

Skills, Qualification & Experience

-         Proven experience in timber harvesting

-         Strong leadership and team management skills

-         Proven business acumen, and a desire to support business development

-         Diligent and professional in your approach to work

-         Self-motivated to deliver a high-quality service to clients and internal teams

-         Strong stakeholder engagement skills

-         Organisational, communication and planning skills

-         Motivational and negotiating skills

-         Proficiency with IT systems, with experience of Office 365 suite

-         Full UK Drivers Licence and willingness to travel
