Growing the Future: Our Euroforest Apprentices in the South of England

Supporting forestry apprenticeships and developing the next generation of forestry professionals across the South of England.

At Euroforest, our apprentices are a vital part of our business and the future of sustainable forestry. Last week, members of our marketing team spent time visiting our apprentices working across the South of England, and it was a great opportunity to see first hand the progress they are making, the knowledge they are building, and the enthusiasm they bring to their roles.

What stood out most during the visit was the depth of understanding our apprentices already have, and how confidently they are applying their learning on site. From planning and operations to environmental awareness and practical forestry skills, they are developing into well rounded professionals who are already making a real contribution to the teams they work with.

One great example of this is Huw, who is nearing the end of his apprenticeship and is preparing to graduate. Huw has built an impressive level of technical knowledge and practical experience during his time with Euroforest. During our visit, it was clear how valuable his experience has become – not only in his own role, but in the way he supports others. Huw is currently working closely with Charlie, one of our newer apprentices, and it has been fantastic to see knowledge being shared day-to-day. This kind of peer learning is a key part of our apprenticeship culture, allowing experience and fresh perspectives to work side by side.

Charlie is at the beginning of his journey, but already showing strong enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. Working alongside someone at a later stage of their apprenticeship gives him the chance to develop confidence quickly, ask questions, and gain insight into how his role will grow over time.

We also caught up with Armon, who is completely new to the forestry sector. Armon joined Euroforest looking for a more outdoors focused role and a career that offered variety and purpose. Since starting, he has settled in brilliantly and has fully embraced the busy life on site. Seeing someone new to the industry gain confidence so quickly is always rewarding, and Armon’s positive attitude and commitment have made him a great addition to the team.

Our apprenticeship scheme is designed to combine practical, hands-on forestry work with structured learning. Apprentices gain real world experience across a wide range of forestry operations while working towards a recognised qualification. With support from experienced colleagues, mentors, and training providers, apprentices develop the technical, environmental, and professional skills needed for a long-term career in forestry.

Visiting our apprentices in the South of England was a real reminder of why the scheme is so important to Euroforest. Investing in people, supporting learning at every stage, and encouraging knowledge sharing helps us build strong teams today while shaping the future of the industry.

We’re incredibly proud of the progress our apprentices are making and look forward to seeing them continue to grow, learn, and develop their careers with Euroforest.
