William joined Euroforest in July 2021, as the Arboriculture Manager.  He was eager to become part of the Euroforest team having first applied for a job in 2017, drawn to the company ethos and interested to learn more about the forestry sector whilst retaining his Arboriculture roots.  In his role William manages all aspects of arboriculture, tree surgery works for Euroforest and is heavily involved with planning mechanised tree removal adjacent to public roads across the UK.

Arboricultural works are an increasing element of the work Euroforest undertakes especially in relation to Ash Die Back and William will lead when asked by clients to price work with any arboriculture requirements especially along roadsides, public right of ways, and where conventional harvesters are unsuitable because of the location or task.  He ensures the appropriate team and machinery are used to undertake the work safely and efficiently.   William also purchases Arb arisings for Euroforest’ s biomass supply contract at Kent Renewable Energy.

William has a BSc (Hons) in Arboriculture and Urban Forestry, MArborA, TechArborA and PTI. Over the years, he has gained significant experience in his field.  During his teen years, William started working for his brother’s arboriculture company.  He studied an Extended Diploma in Arboriculture and Forestry at Sparsholt College, followed by a BSc (Hons) in Arboriculture and Urban Forestry.  On completion of his degree, he started his own consultancy business part-time alongside working for various consultancy companies with local authority and Highways England contracts, before becoming the contract manager on the Scottish and Southern Electric Network.

William specialises in Tree Risk Management, Working at Height, CDM Regs, Project Management, Utility Sector, and Mechanised and Traditional Arboriculture. He is particularly interested in the removal of dangerous trees and in encouraging clients to replant to encourage a healthier and more diverse ecosystem -especially after ash dieback projects.
