In 2018 Euroforest established a business called Baltfor working with Estonian forestry professional Indrek Palumaa. This business is based in the Northwest of Estonia in the port of Paldiski. The principal aim of the business was to secure suppliers of round wood for customers of the Euroforest Group of businesses in the UK and Europe as required. Indrek, the founder and Managing Director has worked in Estonian forestry for over 27 years and started his career in sawmilling where he built up many contacts in both private and state forestry sectors. This enables him to access a variety of timber species and qualities to fulfil all customer requirements.
Baltfor can secure large volumes of timber that is available in Estonia and the Baltics but on the whole are not suitable for sawmilling. Baltfor can provide whole cargos of varying qualities of timber that can be used for pulpwood, particle board and fuel wood markets. We can also source whole cargos of hardwood firewood for the UK market.
Our principal port of operation in Paldiski on the Baltic Sea offers storage facilities and allows Baltfor to build cargos of any size. Ships can easily dock at this modern and sizable port to be loaded for export. The timber can be purchased in a manner of ways either directly from the quayside, loaded onto the vessel, or at point of delivery to customer destination.
