Senior Contracts Manager (Projects)

The Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Manager to join our Projects Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the management of the delivery of vegetation clearance, hard landscaping, and soft landscaping contracts across the UK.

This role focuses on ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality and safety standards. You will assist the General Manager (Projects) in leading a team of Contract Managers, Assistant Contract Managers and Site Supervisors, monitoring multiple projects performances, compliance, and lead company relationships with clients and contractors, while supporting your project teams in achieving successful outcomes.

 

Key Responsibilities

The role involves the following key responsibilities, but it is not limited to:

-         While reporting to the General Manager (Projects), you will oversee the delivery of vegetation clearance, hard and soft landscaping contracts across the UK, ensuring projects are completed to specification, on schedule, and within budget.

-         Lead your teams to coordinate operational programmes in line with client requirements, ensuring full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and industry regulations.

-         Oversee project costs, budgets, and forecasts to maintain financial control and efficiency.

-         Lead your team to apply and uphold ISO standards within all landscaping projects, supporting quality, safety, and environmental objectives.

-         Undertake compliance checks, inspections, and audits to maintain high operational standards across all contracts.

-         Work with the Estimating team & Quantity Surveying teams to achieve successful outcomes.

-         Maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.

-         Lead business growth by identifying and fostering opportunities for additional work within existing and new client contracts.

-         Champion sustainable working practices, minimising environmental impact and promoting responsible resource use.

-         Champion a positive safety culture and ensure all worksites meet health, safety, and environmental requirements.

-         Champion consistent application of HSE, Arboricultural Association, FISA, and ISO 45001, 9001 & 14001 standards across all project activities.

 

Training and support will be provided to introduce the successful applicant to Company systems and procedures.

 

Skills, Qualification & Experience

-         Proven experience working as a Senior Contracts Manager or similar role.

-         Proven experience in risk management in line with company and industry standards.

-         Exceptional knowledge of HSE legislation, OHSAS45001, ISO 14001 & ISO 9001 Standards.

-          Demonstrable extensive experience in working within a CDM environment.

-         Ability to work as part of a team and lead proactively.

-         Valid SMSTS certificate

-         Valid CSCS Black card (or CSCS Gold Supervisors Card and desire to work towards CSCS Black card if not already held).

-         Excellent administration skills

-         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

-         Proven business acumen, and a desire to support business development

-         Diligent and professional in your approach to work

-         Excellent Time management skills and ability to prioritise workload to reach targets.

-         Forward thinking and the ability to take ownership of tasks

-         Proficiency with IT systems, with experience of Office 365 suite

-         Full UK Drivers Licence and willingness to travel
