In partnership with the Isle of Man Government and local contractors, the team is managing the extraction of approximately 35,000 tonnes of windblown timber.
Of this total, around 6,000 tonnes will remain on the island to support local sawmills and biomass projects. The remainder will be exported to the UK and international markets, generating economic value and supporting jobs across the timber supply chain.
This project is not only vital for storm recovery but also plays an important role in restructuring and strengthening the island’s forest landscapes for future resilience. During operations, the team even encountered a few of the island’s lesser-known residents, feral wallabies, adding a memorable moment to the recovery efforts.
Euroforest extends its thanks to partners including JCK Limited, WS Mezeron, Manx Independent Couriers, and Graylaw International for their essential roles in making this initiative possible.
