Accounts Assistant, Carlisle

Overview

Euroforest is the largest independent timber harvesting& marketing company in the UK.

We are growing the finance team which supports the group of businesses. We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Accounts Assistant based in our Head Office in Carlisle.  

The Position

The role is to support a busy finance office whilst taking on responsibilities for own tasks and supporting other team members during busy periods.  We are looking for an individual who shares our energy and passion and will help to contribute to our ongoing success.  This role provides an opportunity to develop responsibilities over time and work on ad hoc projects as they become available.  This is a full-time role reporting to the Financial Controller.

 

Key Responsibilities

·    Transactional processing as required for group companies.

·    Reconciliation of customer self-bills to internal ledgers.

·    Work with the team to develop finance controls and compliance procedures.

·    Assist the accounts payable / credit control team with ledgers as required.

·    Assisting the team in delivery of internal monthly deadlines and key reporting

·    Assist with preparation of year end, supporting schedules and annual audits including the provision of information to auditors.

·    Responding to relevant client enquiries.

·    Weekly invoice / sales ledger processing as required.

·    Processing of bank transactions into the accounting system.

·    Preparation and distribution of statements and all relevant information as required.

·    Other general administration duties as required.

Skills and Experience

The desirable skills to deliver these key tasks are:

·    Experience in a finance or accountancy function

·    AAT qualified or working towards AAT; equivalent relevant experience will be considered

·    Proficient IT skills, experience of Microsoft packages, particularly excel

·    Demonstrable organisational skills, ability to prioritise workload and planning

·    Excellent communicator, ability to build good working relationships with stakeholders

·    Strong decision making, ability to problem solve and use initiative

·    High levels of attention to detail and accuracy

·    Confident people person

·    Agile and adaptable to change

 

Additional information

This role is a full-time permanent position, Monday to Friday.
