Euroforest building the road to success

Alternative Harvesting Approaches Lead to Successful Completion of Challenging Clearfell

Trainee Manager, Stewart Marshall, recently undertook one of his final inspections on this steep site on the banks of Loch Trool. The clearfell, which was undertaken by an experienced team from Blacklock Harvesting, required careful planning and flexibility as the team worked through the winter months.  An alternative harvesting approach was required where the ground was too steep for machine access; in these areas the trees required hand-felling to the harvester or winching to accessible areas. Blacklock Manager, Keith Creighton, worked closely with the Euroforest team of Stewart Marshall and Stewart Rodgers to ensure the site was carefully planned and considered.   Machine operators, Mark Smith and Wullie Rowan, did an excellent job harvesting and forwarding the site.
