John Deere UK arranged for a group of 80 Finnish forestry contractors and customers to visit a Euroforest Harvesting site close to Langholm in the Scottish Borders. Our contractors, Dick Brothers, are working a very steep site utilising two Timber Max traction winches to maximise machine capabilities, minimise ground damage and the risk of diffuse pollution entering the river system. Working this type of ground is completely different to anything found in Finland and feedback was complementary regarding operator skills, site planning and efficiency over traditional winching systems.
