Pryor & Rickett Silviculture Appoint New Managing Director

Pryor & Rickett Silviculture, part of the Euroforest group of companies, recently appointed Ian Barrington, FICFor as Managing Director:

Pryor & Rickett Silviculture (PRS) are delighted to announce the promotion of Ian Barrington, FICFor to Managing Director from 1st January 2023. Ian will be taking over the role from Graham Taylor MBE who has been the MD for the past 21 years. Graham will be continuing to work as Director of Business Development on a part time basis.

Graham has been with the business for almost 30 years, having joined PRS in 1993 as a young forester, becoming a director on incorporation in 1998, and taking up the role of Managing Director in 2001. He has been widely involved in the sector having been Chairman of Future Trees Trust, a Trustee of Woodland Heritage and was awarded an MBE for services to forestry in 2017. Ian joined PRS in 1999 also as a young forester. He joined the board in 2011 and has worked beside Graham during a period of exceptional growth for the company. Ian’s management experience is extensive, from lowland mixed woods to upland forests, as well as building teams of forestry professionals throughout GB. His passion for maximising the benefits from productive forestry while delivering high quality services to forest owners have been key to the recent development of PRS in North England and Scotland.

On his promotion Ian said “It is a great privilege to follow on from Graham in the role of Managing Director. We have worked closely together to achieve significant GB-wide growth in the business over the past decade. With forestry ever more important on the national agenda, it is a truly exciting time to lead our clients, the team, and the company forward in the next stage of growth.

”On the appointment of the new roles David Symons, Managing Director of parent company Euroforest, said “The board and shareholders of Euroforest would like to express their gratitude to Graham for his expert guidance of the business over the last five years, I am sure he still has much to contribute in his new role.
