Ben joined Euroforest in 2013 as a Trainee Manager and has since progressed to his current position as the General Manager for East and Southeast England where he oversees a large region from the Humber all the way down to Southampton and from the M1 East.  He joined Euroforest to progress his career in the more commercial side of forestry having undertaken estate work previously.  Ben’s principal role is to oversee the supply of timber, sawmill co products and recycled timber into Euroforest’s largest single site customer, Kent Renewable Energy Ltd which takes in 240,000 tonnes per annum.  Ben works with a team of five operational managers supported by an administrative team at the Euroforest office in Discovery Park, Kent.

Ben has extensive experience which he gained working as a Forest worker on a private estate in Lincolnshire in 2004.  He then went on to study Forestry at Sparsholt College and completed a placement year on the West Coast of Scotland based out of Oban.  He has attained a Foundation Degree in Lowland Woodland Management (FdSc), and a certificate of education.  After completing his studies, he taught at Sparsholt for a couple of years before moving to Euroforest.

Ben enjoys harvesting and takes pride in building relationships with customers and landowners and maximising the value from difficult and poor-quality crops.  If you wish to discuss any aspects of timber harvesting within his area or possible timber supply into KRE, please contact him on the details above.
